Another exceptionally successful Winter Warm Up! For the past four years, this initiative has brought warmth and care to our community, made possible by the City of Regina’s Winter Initiatives Grant.
In just one day, we managed to distribute nearly 1,000 essential items, including cozy winter clothing, blankets, and hygiene products. Much of this generosity comes from donations to the Heritage Community Association, with Angels 4 Warmth contributing the largest share.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to support our event—your kindness and generosity truly added an extra layer of warmth to the day.
A heartfelt thank you to Elder Sharon Agecoutay for opening our event with a beautiful prayer, setting the tone for a meaningful day. Thank you to Errol Kinistino, Mike Dejarlais, and Josie Linka for filling our neighborhood with your incredible songs and drumming, bringing a spirit of unity and joy.
Special thanks to Shylo Stevenson for your unwavering support in ensuring our food rescue program reaches those who need it most. We are also deeply appreciative of the Hawk Principle for assisting with event deliveries and helping everything run smoothly.
Lastly, thank you to the Regina Police Service for supporting the distribution of warm items in the neighborhood.
Together, we made this day truly special.
The first year, in 2021, we identified the need in our community due to Camp Hope being set up in Pepsi Park. Now, three years later, the need is still very much there — most items that we put out were taken within minutes!
We even received some media coverage — take a look!
