We are excited to be seeking new energy, skills and perspectives to help guide HCA’s next few years of work. As we continue to advocate for the safety and wellbeing of Heritage residents, respond to the rising homelessness and addictions crises in our neighbourhood, and work to strengthen our organization’s leadership within our community, we are looking for people with the following skills and backgrounds:
- Indigenous
- Business Owners/Community Stakeholders
- Human Resources
- Urban Planning & Development
- Financial Management
- Public Health
- Board Development
- IT
Board meetings are every 6 weeks, with email communication in between. Board members also have the opportunity to join committees, such as Personnel, Finance & Audit, and Zoning & Development.
Applications are open to anyone age 18+ with a passion for the Heritage neighbourhood. At least half of our board members need to live in the neighbourhood, but some have other connections to the community, including through work, or they used to live here.
